Eternity Is Reality

I wanted to share an experience that I had in the Prayer Room on Saturday, Nov. 1. Misty Edwards was doing a solo set and sang the song The Lord is gracious and Compassionate. She would intermingle one of her songs with some prophetic singing and this song. She did this for about 45 minutes. First I will share the words, then I will share my experience.

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love…..And as far as the east is from the west, that’s how far You have removed our transgressions from us…So praise the Lord oh my soul, Praise the Lord…..You owe me nothing, and I deserve hell, You owe me nothing, but You’ve given me mercy….I’ve been forgiven much, surely I will love much………Where was I Lord when you stretched out the heaven’s like a curtain, or set the foundations of the earth?….I will not shake my fist at You God, when things don’t go my way, or ask where were you God when this happened..It sounds simple, simple but profound, I will bring a grateful heart!

During this set I was struck by how much the Lord loves us, and how ungrateful and wicked the human heart is! (yes even the righteous, and saved heart!!!) He was just showing me how simple forgiveness is. We genuinely ask for forgiveness, and He removes our transgressions. He showed me how many times I accuse God. It is amazing when we use the term accuse God, how bad that sounds, we are standing in judgement against the Almighty! That sounds so foolish. Though that is exactly what we do when we are disappointed in God, or question Him with an accusation. It is one thing to humbly ask God why things happen, but usually we accuse Him, and demand of Him! He truly owes us nothing! Yet He grants us mercy. I cried for the whole 45 minutes. It was not a sad cry, but a truly grateful heart connecting to our Father. I hope you can feel a little what I felt that day.
